Wood is at the top of the list for edging. It's very popular and offers a look that is so natural and rustic at the same time. Keep in mind, if you do not treat the wood against rot and pests, it will not last very long. Also, as it's a rigid material, it serves best for straight lines instead of curves. On top of that, wood is more expensive than other edging materials.

2-Brick

Brick has always been a favorite for those who want a touch of charm to their landscaping. Similar to wood, this material is best for straight lines instead of curves. Brick offers a very classic style but is limited if you want a custom look. Also, even though it's a study material, it can come loose or crack over time and can be vulnerable to certain outdoor elements such as frost.

5-Metal

If you like a modern sleek look in your home furnishings, you might want to consider metal for your landscape edging. The interlocking edging will be somewhat rigid but you could opt for flexible metal edging that comes in rolls so you can create curved borders.
