The dog proof wall covering will can be easily cut to size with a standard utility knife. It can be used vertically or horizontally. It is made in America.

Material Thickness:
30 mil = 1/32”
40 mil = 3/64”
60 mil = 1/16”
80 mil = 5/64”
100 mil = 3/32”

*The widest HDPE roll that we offer is currently 5’ (60 inches).

Please note that we are unable to provide custom roll lengths.

Installation

When installing with a chain link or wire fence:

  • Start by cutting the liner to fit your area
  • Choose and end to start with and drill 2 holes in the liner greater than the width of the wire you are attaching it to and at least one inch from the edge. (This can be reinforced with grommets if needed)
  • Insert a zip tie from the backside of the wire and loop it through the hole and then back through and secure it on the backside every 12"
  • Then repeat the same on the bottom and around the entire wall every 12”
  • Once completed use flush cuts to cut off the excess zip ties and remove any sharp edges

When installing on a solid wall:

  • Start by cutting the liner to fit your area
  • Choose one side to start on and screw to the wall using a roofing screw so it has the waterproofing shank attached to it
  • Screws should be installed top screw, and then bottom screw all the way around the wall every 6" to 12" to help minimize any bubbling
  • In corners where there is a seam (if applicable) it is best to use a waterproofing tape or mastic underneath the barrier and on top of it as well to prevent any water or urine intrusion

Cleaning as needed using warm water and a drop of dish soap if needed. A cotton or microfiber towels works best.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE): About the Material

High-density polyethylene, otherwise known as HDPE, is a natural gas thermoplastic that's very popular due to its resistance to corrosion and impact as well as its incredible tensile strength. HDPE's characteristics are perfect for piping applications including pressure and non-pressure pipes, conduits, and excellent drainage abilities.

HDPE Structure

HDPE is a polymer with molecules made of repeating chains known as monomers. The monomer that creates HDPE is ethylene with a chemical formula of C2H4. C2H4 is a colorless, flammable gas that is in petroleum and natural gas. Catalysts are then added to create a new ethylene formed on the end of the polymer chain. Although polymer has a simple structure with minimal branching, it creates tightly packed chains that provide the material with incredible strength, flexibility, and stability.

Because of HDPE's strength and durability, it's the chosen product used for 34% of all plastics produced.

HDPE Properties

• A density of 0.944-0.965 g/cm3
• Tensile strength of 3500 psi
• A thermal coefficient of expansion of 8 x 10-6
• Continuous maximum temperature of 140° F
• Slow Crack Growth Resistance PENT of 10,000 hrs

The Benefits Of HDPE

HDPE is a strong, flexible material that is able to stand up to harsh environmental conditions. HDPE is versatile and inexpensive for pipes, storage containers, and many other applications.

Its Flexibility

HDPE will remain solid and rigid until it reaches its melting point then it can be molded into any shape. Due to its flexibility, HDPE can be molded into anything from storage containers to playground equipment.

HDPE Is Recyclable

HDPE is one of the easiest products to recycle making it perfect for companies to save on costs while protecting the environment.

Recycling makes it less expensive to produce plastic, minimizes the production of plastic, and allows companies to market their products as sustainable which is good for many consumers. HDPE can withstand weather conditions such as rain and environmental conditions including chemicals, solvents, and acids.

Irrigation And Agriculture Piping

Powerful acids and bases can happen naturally in soil making HDPE pipes an important option for underground piping. HDPE material is excellent for pipes in a large range of settings.

HDPE piping offers irrigation for gardens, farms, and other applications. Other applications include intake and delivery pipes for flood irrigation and sprinklers for crops, lawns, gardens, and golf courses. For nurseries and orchards that need drip irrigation, HDPE piping is not only lightweight but very strong.

For The Transportation Of Potable Water

HDPE pipes are used to transport drinking water while lowering the risk of corrosion that is found in metal pipes while maintaining a leak-free system.

The Disposal Of Sewage, Waste. and Industrial Discharge

HDPE pipes are an excellent option for residential sewage disposal, the transportation of fertilizers, and the disposal of waste in the petrochemical industry. The release of H2S gas from these applications will not harm HDPE pipes.

Telecommunication And Electrical Cables

HDPE piping offers secure protection for telecommunication and electrical cables because HDPE is resistant to water and other environmental issues. This outstanding material will prevent cables from malfunctioning caused by damage.

For Drainage Pipes

HDPE piping will drain surface water, subsoil water, and rainwater because it's strong and can resist corrosion. HDPE works perfectly for both drainage and water waste mains.

Distribution And Gas Mains

Polyethylene pipes are the chosen remedy for the transportation and distribution of natural gas to customers. Some of the leading reasons include its leak-free joining system, flexibility, strength, and inexpensive price tag.

HDPE Vs Other Materials

There are many benefits to choosing HDPE vs something else, especially in water applications:

Flexible Iron

Flexible iron is usually chosen for industrial water and sewage pipes. The top benefit cited by manufacturers is its tensile strength which is considered higher than other thermoplastics. That said, it is more expensive and can be affected by corrosion.

PVC

While HDPE is a thermoplastic, PVC is a vinyl polymer and has a higher tensile strength than HDPE but is not as flexible. Also, PVC is not resistant to UV damage and is susceptible to failure and fatigue caused by surges. Both PVC and flexible iron use bell and spigot joints that can leak, HDPE has fused joint systems that will not leak.
