Landscape Edging in Front Yard

Wood

Wood landscaping edging will give you a natural and rustic look to your surroundings especially if you have trees. Keep in mind, wood is more rigid than other materials. You can create a perfectly straight line versus having curves. If you want curves you might want to choose a different material.

Brick

Brick has always been a look that spells English Country Garden, due to its charming, quaint look. Brick is similar to wood as it works best for straight edging versus creating curves. Even though brick is not good for customizing, it does offer a very classic look that never goes out of style.

Brick is a very sturdy material that can last a very long time, but bricks can come loose or crack from time to time. Also, if you live in a climate that is prone to frost, brick can be vulnerable under those conditions.

Concrete

Concrete is an incredible alternative for many home projects including edging. Concrete is not only sturdy but strong and you can customize it as you go along. Make sure the cut is approximately 6 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches wide. Pile mulch into the garden bed then let it taper off into the trench. It will make a sharper line that will be easy to mow around.
